• Celosia Growing Instructions

Celosia grows best in a warm, sheltered location with at least 6–8 hours of full sun per day. Plant the seeds shallow in loose soil. Be careful not to plant the seed too deep as they are so tiny.

Water celosia regularly, but don't overwater. Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Celosia can tolerate drier soil better than wet soil.

After planting, fertilize celosia monthly with a fertilizer that has more phosphorus than nitrogen to promote new blooms. You can also use a balanced fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season.

If you have taller cockscomb varieties, you can stake them to prevent the stem from breaking.

  • Zinnia Growing Instructions

Plant zinnias in the spring after the last frost. You can start seeds indoors 4–6 weeks before the last frost for earlier blooms.

Zinnias grow best in full sun with good air circulation. They can tolerate some shade, but they may have fewer flowers and be more susceptible to disease.

Watering: Water zinnias deeply once a week, especially during dry spells.

Fertilizing: Fertilize zinnias occasionally with a balanced fertilizer.

Deadheading: Remove spent flower heads to encourage more blooms and a bushier plant.

  • Dreamy Birthday Seed Mix

Sow seeds outdoors after the last frost when soil temperatures reach at least 70°F. Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil, you may also use a large pot.

Loosen the top 1-2 inches of soil and remove any weeds or debris. Lightly mix in compost to enrich the soil. Scatter the seeds evenly over the soil surface. Lightly press seeds into the soil but do not cover deeply—celosia and zinnias prefer light to germinate.

    Watering:

Gently water to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.

Water regularly until seedlings are established.

    Thinning & Care:

Once seedlings reach 2-3 inches tall, thin them to about 6-12 inches apart to give them room to grow. Water consistently and deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers.

Enjoy vibrant, long-lasting blooms throughout your flowering season!
